We know how crazy things have been since the start of 2020. In fact, Coronavirus, COVID-19, Social Distancing, Lockdown, etc. are terms we’ve barely heard of before the pandemic! With the rapid changes and uncertainty, everyone is also staying in more often than ever. Don’t worry, we totally understand this and have been working on a solution to continue delivering care while keeping everyone safe!

Online Physiotherapy Consultations

Telehealth and technology are crucial ways to deliver care and keep vulnerable populations safe, especially amid the COVID-19 pandemic. The PhysioActive team has been working tirelessly on this solution the past weeks, and we are pleased to announce that we will be launching online consultations SOON.

It is our hope that by deploying a hybrid telerehabilitation service, we can continue to provide physiotherapy consultations to as many patients as possible, without any geographical restrictions. Yes, this means patients can soon choose to see a physio in any of our 5 clinics, or in the comfort of their own homes.

How Can Online Physiotherapy Work?

The idea of doing physiotherapy online may be baffling to some. After all, isn’t physiotherapy all about “hands-on” treatment? How would it be possible to diagnose and fix an injury without touching the patient?

Well, our clinical experience and evidence-based research suggest that it is the right mix of professional advice, rest, and exercise that helps you recover in the long run! A “hands-on” massage may make you feel better instantly but one thing for sure is that it WILL NOT fix your injury. In fact, most injuries can be self-treated with an accurate diagnosis and a tailored treatment plan – both of which we can easily provide via a video call.

There Are More Benefits Than You Think

If you’ve been issued a Leave of Absence, Stay-Home Notice, Quarantine Order, or simply just working from home, an online consultation could help. In fact, online physiotherapy has been proven to be as effective, if not better, than an in-person appointment. This aside,

  1. It is an opportunity for you to seek fast and easy expert care wherever it suits you.
  2. Time is saved by avoiding travel to and from appointments.
  3. Zero expense is incurred for travel, gas, parking, and/or extra meals out.
  4. Quality care is now available in the comfort and safety of your own home.

Conditions Suitable For An Online Consultation

Just like traditional physiotherapy, online physiotherapy aims to help with any pain, strain, ache, or rehab. Our physiotherapists are specialised in different fields and our secretariat team will be able to refer you to the right expert based on your condition. We can treat injuries from Neck, Shoulder, Spinal, Knee, to Ankle, and even sports or work-related/overuse injuries online.

But let’s be frank. There will be times when an injury needs to be further managed, and we will not hesitate in letting you know and referring you the the appropriate professional, for instance, a doctor/surgeon.

There’s No Better Time Than Now

If you’ve been neglecting your physical health or have been putting those “small” pains / “ageing” pains aside, perhaps now is the best time to start looking into them! Life can be hectic at times, but it’s important to not forget about YOURSELF. Also, it is often these little aches and pains that snowball into chronic conditions. Why choose to live with pain for months and even years if you could get it treated?

As the world slows down its pace with less travel and work from home schemes, time is less of an issue now. Let’s revisit our health and wellness and actually do something to improve our quality of life. Whether you prefer treatment on-site in our clinics or online, we’ve got just the solution to help you live better and pain-free.

Amid the COVID-19 pandemic, we hope to encourage and incentivise anyone who is able to have their health issues treated remotely, and immediately do so. We understand how many matters have become inconvenient but don’t worry, we got you. Together, we can overcome this 🙂

P.S. Insurance companies such as UnitedHealthcare Global have also expanded their telehealth policies to make it easier for people to connect with their healthcare provider!
